Major news for our family....we have a new house! I haven't written about this because it stresses me out and with real estate it's a roller coaster ride that's never over til it's over. Well, it's finally over! Before the boys even came home we realized that we were not in the ideal house for two babies. Imagine carrying one down stairs to feed at 5am and then the other. Then taking one up, then the other.
We bought our first house in 2006 as a forclosure- seriously there were no light fixtures, but we both loved it. We spent 4 years fixing up the house, which we liked doing. But now that we have the boys the last thing we want our weekends filled with is house repairs. Our Frisco house was 17 years old and had a lot of maintenance to keep it up- in the next 5 years we really needed to replace the roof, 2 a/c units, floors, 40 single pane windows and more. We want our money and time focused on the boys not the house. So we put the house on the market and got our first offer in 6 days, it was low, and they ended up walking away. We had from 0 to 8 showings a week! We almost got another offer a few weeks after that, but it never happened. Then we ended up with a good offer and we agreed to it. In total our house took 2 and a half months to sell and in this down housing market that's really good.
We put an offer in on our new house and lucked out by having both closings on the same day(after a ton of work arranging this). Summed up this process doesn't sound so bad but it was so stressful having showings with the boys home and trying to keep their schedule, working on all the bank documents, packing, moving, doing inspections and home repairs. We got through it and we both love the new house. We'll always have good memories of our first home but I know that the new house will be perfect for us, more on that later.
Here are the pictures of our first home when we first moved in and the pictures when we moved out:

2006 exterior

Huge empty media room. We bought the couch before we even closed on the house, it was on major sale when Foley's turned into Macy's. They kept it on the floor for us for weeks!

White master bedroom with, gag, mini blinds.

Guest bath with brass fixtures and general barfyness.

Breakfast table off the foul kitchen. No before or after pictures of kitchen. We had navy counter tops and this weird mosaic yellow, blue and red backsplash. We did buy a new fridge and stove. The old stove had a dial on it...I assume a sun dial.

I painted the living room before we moved in and then lost the paint so we never had touch up paint for the next 4 years. Learned a lesson there.

Painted and decorated media room. We hung wood blinds in every room in the house ourselves.

Jim's fav.

I loved this bathroom. We bought the mirror in Santa Fe. We changed out all the fixtures ourselves and every door knob in the house!

We painted the back wall in the bedroom gray and hung curtains.

We never got to redoing the master bath, gold fixtures, carpeted and a tiny shower that I hated using. I used the guest bathroom for all 4 years in this house!

Cute guest room.

Staircase

Living room stayed the same.

Front of the house. The awesome laminate flooring made popping sounds when you walked across it. Don't miss that.

Dining room was used maybe 3 times, but it was pretty!
We said goodbye to the Frisco house on Sept 7th!
