4 month stats

“How did it get so late so soon? It's night before its afternoon. December is here before its June. My goodness how the time has flewn. How did it get so late so soon?” Dr Seuss

Our 4 month check up went great!

A+'s for both boys!

Dr Newton said that their development was right on for a 4 month old baby! They're in the 10-25th percentile for head circumference, height and weight. This is compared to babies that were born 2 months after them! He says they are still growing faster than they typically would, premature babies generally catch up to full term babies by the time they are 2 years old. They can either have growth spurts or slowly gain over time. They had been gaining about a pound ever 2 weeks but now it's closer to about a pound a month.

Alex's stats:
Head circumference- 15.7 inches
Height- 23.3 inches
Weight- 12 pounds 7 ounces

Nate's stats:
Head circumference- 15.8 inches
Height- 23.5 inches
Weight- 12 pounds 15 ounces

We don't have to fortify their milk anymore (goodbye milk lab) and he says they are eating great. 4 month olds should be eating between 5-6 times a day and can we can start training them to sleep through the night. He recommended giving them a tbsp of rice cereal once a day with a spoon. More on that later. No doctors until their 6 month check up!
