Alex and Nate's ice storm

February 1-5, 2011

Only in Texas: We went from a weekend of 70 degree weather to an ice storm On Monday night. They are reporting the lowest temperatures in Dallas in 15 years. It was 13 yesterday. My office was closed on Tuesday and Wednesday so me and the boys stayed home and Jim went in to work.

All the schools are closed and a lot of businesses too. Frisco, Plano, Allen and McKinney ISD are on day 3 of canceled school. The roads are completely iced over and there have been rolling black outs all over Texas. Our power was out for about 20 minutes Tuesday morning but not a big deal. I did have to think about what I would do if there wasn't power all day but luckily that didn't happen.Thank God we were stocked up on food, diapers and formula.

Alex and Nate were oblivious to the weather problems, we just played the days away!

It did snow the next day! We got another 8 inches of snow at the house on Friday. The snow is covering the icy roads now so the whole world is trapped indoors. We made a trek to Chuy's on Friday night just to escape the house. Lots of wrecks and bad roads, but we made it there and back!

Hopefully everyone is staying warm!
